Most respondents voted for Italian cuisine when asked which cuisine is more prevalent in the United States. However, when it comes to Mexican food, the results were split. Mexican cuisine ranked second overall, while Italian fare ranked first. While Mexican food is widely available, many Americans prefer Italian dishes.

Chinese

According to a YouGov study, Americans prefer Italian food over Mexican food. The study surveyed more than 25,000 people in 24 markets to gauge their food preferences. American food was ranked seventh among 34 cuisines, with an average popularity score of 68 percent. Italian food won out, however, with an average popularity score of 84 percent among the 24 nations surveyed. Mexican food was close behind, with 86 percent.

Mexican

In a recent survey, YouGov asked more than 25,000 people in 24 markets about the most popular types of food. Mexican food ranked highest in the United States, followed by Chinese and Thai food. However, Mexican food was not as popular in other countries. In fact, in 2010, tacos outsold hot dog buns.

Many claim Mexican food is authentic, but this is not always true. While authentic Mexican cuisine is made with fresh ingredients, Americanized versions use more processed ingredients. As a result, you’ll find a mix of different flavors in the dishes you eat. For example, you’ll find more spices in American versions of Mexican food.

Many Mexican restaurants feature authentic ingredients. For example, mole poblano sauce is associated with the state of Puebla. This sauce is made by grinding dried chiles and nuts and mixed with Mexican chocolate. This dish is also often paired with turkey or chicken. It’s even been called the “national dish” of Mexico.

Americanized versions of Mexican cuisine include chili, fajitas, chimichangas, and nachos. Although Mexican food has a long border with the United States, the two countries have different cooking styles and flavors. If you’re looking for authentic Mexican cuisine, look for a restaurant that advertises itself as distinct from Tex-Mex. However, informal restaurants often offer both types of food.

Mexican cuisine is increasing in the US. As of 2011, there are more than 38,000 Mexican restaurants nationwide. However, the popularity of Mexican restaurants doesn’t always correlate with the population of Mexicans in a particular state. For example, Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona have the most Mexican restaurants per capita, while the least are found in New Jersey and Rhode Island.

Italian

A recent YouGov poll of 25,000 Americans found that Italian food was the preferred cuisine of 88 percent of American consumers. Pizza and pasta are staples of the American diet. Japanese, Chinese, and Spanish dishes were all in the top ten, but they were not nearly as popular as Italian food.

The survey was conducted among a representative sample of American adults the National Restaurant Association surveyed. The results revealed that more than half of the respondents eat Italian food at least once a month. Another twenty-four percent eat it once a year or more. According to the survey, Italian food is most popular among people aged 35 to 54. However, the survey also showed that younger Americans eat more Italian food than older people.

The survey also found that respondents who had children ate Italian food more often than those without children. This result is consistent with other studies. In addition, respondents living in households with children tended to be more adventurous regarding food and were more likely to order Italian food than those who did not have children.
